Golfing...when it comes to the ancient game, Galloway & Dumfriesshire has no shortage of courses and driving ranges. There is a golf course in almost every town across the region, ranging from pitch-and-putt to smaller 9-hole courses to challenging 18 hole large courses desgined for Championship play.

Galloway is home to the ever-growing Galloway Golf Classic, with its annual high-level competition. Apart from the courses themselves, what makes many of them memorable is their location.

From the cliffs above Portpatrick to the shores of Loch Ryan or Luce Bay, from Lamb Hill above Lockerbie to the woodlands above Moffat, these courses have to be seen to be played. Prices are competitive and visitors are most welcome to play, but it might be worth checking first in case of special events, member's days etc.
